A fresher resume has one job: get you the interview. These are the structural choices that move recruiters in the 7 seconds they actually spend on your CV.
The one-page rule (non-negotiable)
Recruiters skim. A two-page fresher resume signals you can't prioritise. Cut ruthlessly.
Lead with outcomes, not responsibilities
- Bad: 'Was part of the marketing team.'
- Good: 'Ran 3 Instagram campaigns; grew followers from 800 to 3.4k in 6 weeks.'
The projects section is your superpower
Two well-documented projects (with link, stack, your specific contribution, and outcome) beat five vague ones. This is where most freshers leave value on the table.
ATS-safe formatting
- Single column. Standard fonts. No tables, icons, or photos. Save as PDF.
